Brazos Woven Full-Grain Leather Belt
Description
The Brazos is woven rather than cut, built from narrow strips of top-grain cowhide braided into a single continuous strap. The braid is tight and even, tapering into a plain leather tab at the buckle end. The buckle itself is an antiqued pin buckle in aged silver-tone, squared and slightly worn in finish, with a matching keeper loop behind it. Because the pin sets between the strands, there are no punched holes to line up. Available in brown and black, sizes 28 through 40.
Woven leather sits somewhere between casual and considered, which is most of what men actually wear. It works with denim and chinos, and it does not look out of place under a jacket. The braid loosens a touch with wear and the leather darkens where your hand falls, so the belt reads a little more lived-in every season. Nothing about it goes out of date.

How to tell a good belt
Most belts look the same in a photograph. Three things separate one that lasts a decade from one that cracks by spring.

The leather
Cut from one solid piece of leather, the same material front to back. Cheaper belts use bonded leather, scraps ground down and glued onto a backing, which cracks and peels inside a year.

The buckle
Solid metal with real weight to it, sitting on a folded, stitched end that will not work loose. The cheap version is hollow plated zinc, and the plating always goes at the prong first.

The edge
Stitched the full length, with the edge finished and sealed rather than left raw. A glued fold with no stitching is what splits open the first time you pull it hard.
